St. Paul Port Authority seeks developers for final industrial lots at The Heights redevelopment

The St. Paul Port Authority seeks developers and users for the last available industrial lots within The Heights redevelopment that will replace the former Hillcrest Golf Club.

The 112-acre redevelopment site, which will become a mixed-use community with up to 1,000 homes and 1 million square feet of light-industrial space, has four remaining industrial parcels available, according to SPPA representatives. These parcels range from 2 acres to over 6 acres.

SPPA last week brought developers and real estate brokers out to tour the site’s progress and industrial opportunities. The site is located on the northeastern corner of the city along its border with Maplewood.

Already under construction are Xcel Energy Inc.’s new 339,000-square-foot service center and the first half of 147 planned homes for Twin Cities Habitat for Humanity on the western portion of the site.

On the north end of the site, developers Sherman Associates and JO Cos. plan to construct multifamily apartment buildings, but haven’t yet broken ground.
